Thankful for Haggis Won Tons! & Gift #21

Happy

Mes wonders if this guy can blow the chanter on the bag pipes

Here in Vancouver, wes has a most unusual Chinese New Year tradition.
Gung Haggis Fat Choy – It is a unique celebration that merges Scotland’s Robbie Burns Day with Chinese New Year
Started in 1998 by Vancouverite Todd Wong, the fusion event combines traditions from two very different cultures into something that’s, well, odd.
Hummm...Purrhaps it is the purrfect holiday for US!!!
Mes oriental...and Mommy has some Scottish blood.. ..

They is celebrating it at Mommy's Job tomorrow and
Mes is thankful Mommy is going to brings home some Haggis WonTons!!!
Any way, Mommy says no camera until NEXT weekend...Mes say Pooey!

  1. Mom had lunch with several ladies on Tuesday and they were talking about Robbie Burns day, Two of them had been to a party where they served Haggis, Then the other ladies wanted to know what Haggis was made of. So Mom got on the internet on her phone and told them! Mom does not think she wants to try it and is sure she would not like it!

  2. My human says that just from her brief time in Vancouver recently, that holiday totally makes sense! She loved the cool blend of cultures there - and she is coming back with me at the end of February!

  5. Well that is MOST interesting dear Nellie! Mom and Dad went to Scotland and had haggis at a big "Scottish Night" dinner.......and Mom says she can't imagine that being in a won ton but hey - she likes won tons so who knows?!?!?! Anyway, I hope you enjoy the "kitty bag" your Mom brings home for you to enjoy today!

    Love, Angel Sammy

  6. TW has never eaten haggis or won tons so she'd probably starve during your Scottish Chinese New Year. You know I love Chinese food so I hope the peeps celebrate by ordering some and they don't tell me it's too spicy or oniony and I can't have it.

  15. That is a nice quote...stick-to-it-tiveness is a good quality!

Maybe those Haggis Wontons would stick in petcretary's belly, MOL!!

We shall have to ask our uncle if he has had those...he's lived there for many years now.

Its so frustrating when we do not have access to the things we want/need to use. We think there will be lots of nice new pictures when the camera comes back to your den.

  17. Happy Chinese New Year's my darling Nellie Belly <3 <3 <3 Hope one of those wontons finds its way to you -- Chinese New Year is almost as big a deal here in SF as the western New Year on Jan 1--SF has a yuuuuuuge Chinese-American population and there's a big parade and all kinds of stuff. It's all good, but I purrsonally do not like the firecrackers. Shall I come visit to get away from all that? XOXOXOXO

  20. Nellie, this is by far the craziest mash-up we have ever heard about, but now you have our mom craving Chinese food; though, she says she'll skip those haggis wontons. Tell Mom Barb to have fun at her party. Sending lots of love, hugs and prayers, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
