One of the first blogs I followed was written by Jackie about Eric and Flynn. I faithfully read her blog for about a year. Then I had an accident and was flat on my back in bed. I started the Cat From Hell, and thought maybe I could share Nellie the way that Jackie shared Eric and Flynn.
For the last 8 years, I was privileged to work with Jackie on a number of crossover posts.
Nellie LOVED to visit Eric and Flynn.
When Eric went over the bridge both of us were devastated, but that did not stop Nellie from visiting Flynn.
Both Flynn and Nellie were elderly cats and particularly this last year I noticed the changes in their pictures.
I hope our "kids" are having the mouse hunt of their dreams.
Thanks for sharing your Ginger Boy with us Jackie and Ivor.
We have so loved Flynn, his mouse hunts and walks in the fields, his love of Eric and You and his Dad and his Pot.
Thank you for letting him be part of Nellie's blog too.
And Jackie and Ivor, I send you all my love and strength.
Our hearts are all broken.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful post; thank you. The feline world has lost two mighty titans this year, with Nellie and Flynn going to meet Those Who Have Gone Before. Our lives have been made so much richer for knowing such characterful furries and we celebrate their lives as we also wipe away tears.
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely, Barb. Flynn was such a special boy and that he should leave so soon after Nellie makes us so very sad.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post. Nellie and the boys had such fun together, and we're sure they're having just as much fun now. Our prayers are with Jackie.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful tribute to such precious friends; it's another sad day for the CB...We've loved Nellie and Eric/Flynn for many years and hope they are together at the Bridge, along with our Daddy Cat and many other friends...Wishing everyone comfort as we face another devastating loss in the CB community=these sweet babies will always live in our hearts; extra love and prayers for Jackie and Ivor...XO...J, Calle, Halle, Sukki, Mommy Cat
ReplyDeleteWe're just heartbroken. Especially so close to Nellie's passing.... An era has passed, truly.
ReplyDeleteThere is something so very very poignant about Flynn joining Nellie and his sweet brother, Eric at this time! We are heartbroken, but this is a beautiful tribute Barb xxx
ReplyDeleteThat made me all weepy again, but such a beautiful tribute.
ReplyDeleteWe can't see through our tears to write. We've lost another one of our great blogging friends. We will miss Flynn so much.
ReplyDeleteLovely tribute to our sweet friend Flynn. He was such a special boy. Purrs
ReplyDeleteWe are all so heartbroken over losing Flynn. We'll miss him a lot.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post about Nellie and Flynn. So glad that they were such good friends. That picture of Flynn and Eric in the pots side by side is my very favorite.
ReplyDeleteA lovely tribute to Flynn - and Nellie - and Eric. it is so hard to watch the older cats leave for the bridge, but it is even harder when one of them is yours. It's good you and Jackie are close because you so recently lost Nellie and now Flynn has joined her and Eric, so you can lean on and empathize with one another in grief. We send a big hug for both of you humans.
ReplyDeleteDearest Angle Nellie and Mom...what a beautiful post to your best buddy and one gorgeous mancat Flynn. We just loved seeing all the flashback photos we had forgotten about. We know for sure you and Eric were waiting with open arms to welcome Flynn.
ReplyDeleteHugs madi and mom
Thank you for such a beautiful tribute to Flynn. I can't begin to tell you how much it means to us.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Barb. We used to love when Nellie would have her adventures and Flynn had his special place in our hearts with Nellie and Sammy. Sending you an extra dose of luv today.
ReplyDeleteMarty, Mom and the Gang
Such sad news. :(
ReplyDeleteBarb, That is a beautiful tribute to Flynn, Eric and Nellie. I have avoided reading to many blogs about Flynn and Nellie because I keep crying for you, Jackie and Ivor.
ReplyDeletethat is such a sad time for blogville... so much tears efurrywhere... sigh...
ReplyDeleteBarb what a beautiful tribute to sweet Flynn - so many memories over a long period of time. We didn't know "the boys" as long as long as you did but what time we did know Flynn was precious. Sammy thought of Flynn as his "ginger brother" and watching his decline - especially after Sammy left - was difficult. I'm so happy that Nellie and Flynn had some beautiful times together before they both left us all......The Rainbow Bridge is FULL of special souls and dear "heart children" and I'm comforted that they are all together. I love seeing all the photos of Nellie and Flynn cuddling - special. You are so sweet in the midst of your own grief to extend your heart to Jackie and Ivor - sometimes the sadness is overwhelming but friends get us through..............with love.
ReplyDeleteLove and Hugs to you too sweet friend!
Pam (and Teddy too)
We can be a bit consoled by knowing they are all together and off on more adventures - strong & healthy again and ready for anything !
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post to two wonderful friends. We feel so bad that both had to leave us. Thank you for this beautiful post - it truly is lovely. (Weapy eyed all over again here.)
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible post for Flynn. We could all see that he was declining, but he had rallied so many times, Mom really believed that he would again. We are so happy he is no longer suffering. We know he is happy to be with Eric again and his friends, especially Nellie. I know she and Eric were waiting with open paws and that a huge mousie hunt is being planned. Sending lots of love to you, Barb. We know this post had to be extra hard with Nellie's passing such a short time ago. Mom and all of us are sending lots of love, hugs and prayers. ReplyDeleteBeautiful tribute. You and Flynn shared something real special. Now you are together again and your humans' hearts are broken.
ReplyDeleteOh, how profound a statement....
DeleteFlynn was a special friend. We were pals with him and with Eric right from when we started blogging. He will be missed. Like Nellie, he was an icon in the Blogosphere.
